Now in Malaysia is the 2026 BMW Motorrad M1000 R Competition naked sports, priced at RM219,500. Pricing does not include insurance and only one colour option is offered, an exclusive M Competition colour scheme variant in Blackstorm with metallic M Motorsport colours.
Direct competition for the M1000 R in Malaysia is the Ducati Streetfighter V4S, priced at RM165,900, though the M1000 RR comes in at a rather higher specifications sheet. As befits an ‘M’ motorcycle, the M1000 R Competition comes loaded with parts from BMW Motorrad’s motorsports division, drawing on its recent expertise in the World Superbike Championship.
Called the M Competition Package, this includes the the M Carbon Package comprising of matte-finish carbon-fibre components including the front and rear wheel covers, tank cover in blue and red, airbox cover, front fender with integrated chain guard and rear fender, sprocket cover, wind deflector, side panels, and passenger seat cover.
This carries on into the M Billet pack that includes a CNC milled rider footrest with adjustability for rider ergonomics. Rounding out the M specifications list are carbon-fibre wheels, winglets, M Endurance Chain, the passenger kit and a GPS laptrigger for track use. Further complementing the looks are an anodised Platinum Grey metallic swingarm and black fuel tank.
In addition, the ‘M’ components lists continues on with the chassis kit, lightweight battery, brakes, titanium exhaust and ‘M’ seat. Emphasising the “Competition” in its name, the M1000 R also comes with the M short-stroke throttle, featuring a 58-degree rotation angle for rapid throttle input.
The throttle controls the same 999 cc inline four-cylinder engine as its RR sibling, delivering 210 hp at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. BMW Motorrad says this is, in Rolls-Royce parlance, adequate to propel the M1000 R to a 0–100 km/h time in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of over 250 km/h, all while remaining Euro 5+ emissions compliant.
Riding Modes Pro is standard equipment in the electronics suite with Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, Race Pro 1, Race Pro 2, and Race Pro 3 modes. There is also the ability to adjust throttle response, engine braking, traction control, wheelie control and ABS.
The Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) has also been fine-tuned to reflect RR-level performance, particularly in Race Mode, providing refined slip control and enhanced rider confidence on the edge of traction. Rounding out the M1000 R Competition is a dual-flow LED headlight with ‘M’ logo prominently displayed in the air intake
