The Bentley Supersports has been unveiled as the British luxury marque’s latest two-door model, and while it officially omits “Continental” from its name, it is immediately recognisable as a derivative of the fourth-generation Continental GT that made its debut in mid-2024.

For this iteration of the Supersports, Bentley has taken its latest two-door coupé in the direction of weight reduction, with a variety of measures for its latest model to arrive at a gross weight below two tonnes, according to the marque. For comparison, the fourth-generation Continental GT Speed has a quoted kerb weight of 2,459 kg.

This is in order to make it the “the most driver-focused Continental GT ever”, says Bentley, with the 2026 Supersports begin the third to carry the model name after the 2017 Continental Supersports, and the 2009 model before that.

To do so, the 2026 Supersports omits front driveshafts and powertrain electrification, with the 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 666 PS and 800 Nm, transmitted to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. This propels the 2026 Supersports from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and to a top speed of around 310 km/h.

The rear axle gets an electronically controlled LSD that is aided by brake-torque vectoring, applied to rear wheels that now span a track width that is 16 mm wider than that of the ‘regular’ Continental GT. Rear-wheel steer is retained, while calibrations for steering, suspension, traction management and ESC systems are all-new, says Bentley.

The exterior of the Supersports has been give a number of alterations to increase downforce and reduce weight, namely with a new front bumper that integrates the largest front splitter to be fitted to a Bentley road car, while dive planes, side sills, fender blades and a rear diffuser in carbon-fibre combine to produce 300 kg more downforce than the Continental GT Speed.

The Supersports also gets a carbon-fibre roof to lower its centre of gravity. For rolling stock, it gets a set of 22-inch forged alloy wheels developed with Manthey Racing, with the option of Pirelli Trofeo RS tyre which enable lateral performance of up to 1.3 g. Also on are carbon-ceramic brakes and a full-length, titanium Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.

The cabin of the Supersports is that of a two-seater, with the rear seats of the four-seater Continental GT replaced with a carbon-fibre and leather shell. The Supersports instead gets a pair of more heavily bolstered sports seats which offer a lower seating position, while upholstery can be specified in monotone, duo-tone or tri-tone schemes using leather, Dinamica and carbon-fibre.

“The new Supersports is more than just the most driver-focused Bentley yet. It signifies a return to Bentley making more extreme cars – ones that combine extraordinary breadth of ability with true driver engagement, while remaining pieces of automotive artwork unique and bespoke to each customer,” said Bentley chairman and CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser.

The 2026 Bentley Supersports is limited to a production run of 500 numbered examples, with order books set to open in March 2026 ahead of its start of production in the fourth quarter of next year.
