Kia EV2 to debut at Brussels Motor Show in January

Kia has released teaser images of the EV2 compact SUV that will debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January, and this is expected to be the productionised version of the Concept EV2 that was unveiled in March this year.

The concealing drape over the vehicle in these image reveal little except the front DRL and tail lamp signatures, which are essentially the same as those on the Concept EV2.

Their positioning on the vehicle’s body also appears unchanged, with the tail lamps in particular relatively low on the bodywork, similar to those on the Concept EV2 where the tail lamps are level with the tops of the rear wheel arch cladding.

Other changes visible in its evolution from Concept EV2 to the example in the teaser here include what’s likely to be a roof-mounted antenna, while the exterior mirrors appear to no longer wear the ridges on the covers. In terms of visual cues seen on the Concept EV2, the production car can be expected to draw from its stablemates the EV3 as well as the full-sized EV9.

Inside, the Concept features bench seats for both front and rear occupants, while the steering “wheel” is an octagonal unit that has been bent to follow the contours of the dashboard; this will likely be replaced for a more conventional setup in the eventual production vehicle.

Beyond the teaser silhouette, Kia has yet to reveal technical details for the EV2 ahead of its official unveiling, though it can be expected to share aspect of the powertrain from the Hyundai Creta Electric, which gets a single 171 PS front-mounted motor that draws from a 51.4 kWh battery that offers a claimed 473 km of range.

The Kia EV2 is scheduled for its public debut on January 9, 2026 at the Brussels Motor Show.
